The diamond itself is the same — the supply chain is not. Mining involves exploration, heavy machinery, land, long transport chains and many middlemen. Growing a diamond needs advanced equipment and energy, but far fewer steps. That shorter path lets you get a larger or higher-quality diamond for the same budget.
